New Jack Skates in New Jack City

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

The new RB New Jack aggressive skates look pretty darn good as RB changes up the name of their popular Downtown series.

The best news about these skates is that RB finally stopped riveting the grind inserts and decided to start using the mini allen bolts again. So YES you can finally bolt on and off replacement grind inserts and midsouls easily.

In case you haven’t checked out this RB skate series since the Downtown 1, they really have made some great improvements on the design. The New Jack boot is a great combination of hard and soft boot technology as RB eliminated a lot of the plastic on the inner boot to give you a better fit, increased comfort and more flex for grinds.

Jayson Reduta & Rob G: San Jose OG’s skating the new RB solo

Monday, February 16th, 2009

For those of you that don’t know Jayson Reduta & Rob Gurrero are San Jose natives and are the true OG’s of the scene. While the San Jo scene isn’t what it used to be, we still have a strong vibe out here and pretty much everyone that still has love for blading and  gets out to do the damn thing. Jayson is currently finishing up an Art major and Ruff riding it up on his GSXR and in his spare time still gets down with the illest steeze. Rob G. of course is still killin’ it with amazing flow and is now hooked up with a full factory ride from Rollerblade.

Still doin it in San Jose. Rob G and I went out a few days to hit up the local parks to break in his new ROLLERLBADE skates. These skates are ill by the way if you like to roll park. He hooked me up with an old pair and I gotta say they’re very fast and smooth with large frames and wheels. Not the most stylish skate compared to the new ones out today in terms of having skins, but an OG like me still likes to see a bare hard boot shell. The soul material is awesome and slides no problem any waxed surface. Check it out yall.

Controlled accidents with Rob Guerrero (09′ RB skates!)

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

This is me testing out the new Rollerblade Solo Skate which hits stores January 09′. After my first grind I fell in love, then immediately started filming not even 10 minutes after I strapped them on and put little grooves in the Soul Plates. During this session alot of tricks that I used to do back in 97′-98′ began to come back naturally. Switch Torque was the one I was most excited about. I did a switch torque then fakie 270 front torque line which was not shown because I didn’t like the way my right foot came off, but you will be seeing more of them in the future. True torque comeback? New info soon to come on the New Rollerblade Solo, my experience with them, and other torque news.

See more on the controlled accidents blog here.

JEFFE DALNAS IS A KILLER

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Jeff Dalnas, as a lot of you have probably noticed is constantly killing huge rails with ease - here he’s spraying down a 450 royal. peep the shirt, Jeff is AM official. Click the photo for a bigger pic, taken from the ROLLER NEWS FLICKR taken by Brian Matthew Lewis.

Also, here’s an edit of team Rollerblade, featuring Dalnas, Rob G, Julian Bah, even Tom Hyser throwing down a few tricks. I noticed that they were flying on Air Tranny jets which reminded me of the time Air Tran sold my seat out from under me and left me stranded in the Jacksonville air port for two days to sleep in the floor of the terminal and spend all day riding around in the parking shuttle bus trying to charge my phone in the ciggarette lighter socket with some rickety ass over priced charger I had to buy from some crappy “technology of the future” store in the airport. check it.

Julian Bah Point 8 Check and a dope ramp trick.

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Way to step it up Julian, that was sick. Must be a pain in the ass to lug that huge ass ramp around too. I can imagine tresspassing and telling the cops that you weren’t skating with that there too.

“Nah I swear, we weren’t skating…”
“What’s that!” ——–> RAMP
“Oh that? I dunno…ain’t mine.”

Rollerblade Point 8 skates in stock now.

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

Rollerblade’s brand new Point 8 aggressive skate is on top of the innovation game this year. This is the first ever UFS frame meant for aggressive skating that incorporates the use of such a large outer wheel and this could very well may change the way UFS frames and skates are made. The frame is specially designed to tuck the outer wheels up into the boot to ensure that you still get a low profile/ low center of gravity ride, but all the benefits of a big wheel, and by big we mean BIG. These are a full 12mm bigger than any other wheel out there! What you get with a bigger wheel is a smoother and much faster ride. If that isn’t your style Rollerblade has covered in more ways than 1…They got you covered in 4.

With the Rollerblade Point 8 skate you can choose 4 set ups right out of the box. (all parts included)

Your first option (stock) is the 72mm wheels on the out side rockered up with Rollerblade’s new Nylon anti-rockers in the middle. This very well could change the way we see and skate frames today.

Your 2nd option is a flat set up utilizing the the 72mm wheels on the outside, with a 56mm on the inside for the absolute fastest lowest profile ride ever created. This would be your ideal park set up.

Option number 3 is a flat set up with all 8 standard 56mm wheels. Just rocker the outer wheel’s down and you got yourself a standard flat set up, suitable for just about everything.

Last but not least, you can get down to basics with your standard anti-rocker set up with 56mm Rollerblade wheels on the outside and the 40mm nylon anti’s in the middle. Ideal for your standard street set up.

Attached to this high-tech frame you have the TRS point 8 boot attached to it, which is your standard TRS boot that features a mostly gray skate with navy highlights a full lace up soft cover with a removable Rollerblade TRS cuff and buckle. The point 8 also features a specialized liner with built in shock absorbers, and is density padded for comfort. All wheels come loaded with ABEC 7 bearings.

Get all of this for only $229 complete or lose it all for just $189 B/O. Peep game here.
