Biggest event in the USA: Bitter Cold Showdown XI (You better be going 2/25/2011)

Bitter Cold Showdown XI Promo from Bitter Cold Showdown on Vimeo.

OKAY, so unless you are living under a rock you know about the BCSD. If you know about it but just aren’t going you should reconsider. If you go to any blading event this year, this is the one to go to, hell - if you were going to one event in your LIFE, this would probably be it. For those of you that do, you already know that the Bitter Cold Showdown is an annual mid-west event currently being held at Modern skate park in Royal Oak Michigan that is now on it’s 11th year and is stronger than ever. People drive, fly, bus, train and even occasionally cross boarders illegally from all over the world just to make it to this event. to Anyone who is considered anyone in the blade game will be in attendance of this 5 star W.R.S. event. (Any person(s) absent risk being considered, AWOL, MIA or KIA, or worse yet - a straight up loser.) This contest is not only the biggest in-door park contest in the USA, but the biggest park contest in general, and is probably ranked within the top 2 biggest contests in the world. In addition to that this event boasts the biggest trade show for blade gear in the entire U.S.A. It’s such a big event that it’s the ONLY event we close our doors for midweek aside from major holidays. So Check this edit out, Go to the BCSD web site, register to compete, or just show up to be hang out with the rest of your home dogs, have a good time and get ready to blown away by next level park skating from your favorite pro’s and up-and-coming am’z. That and spend all your moneys at the aMALL booth!

Kindgrind Classic 2010

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

The 2010 Kindgrind Classic was just held over the hot weekend at the Fairfield CA skatepark and everyone had a great time with the sun beating down from above. There was non stop rollerblading with both the contest going down and everyone sessioning every inch of the park the entire day.

Contest Results:
1. Brandon Smith - $1,000.00
2. Sean Keane - $420.00
3. Andy Johnson & Victor Arias - $105 a piece (I think..)

Best Trick:
Victor Arias - $100

A big thanks goes out to the folks of Bernal Heights Collective for putting on the event. They provided the awesome prize money, the wood additions to the park, water, bbq, insurance for the event and even their own security. The security did an incredible job of keeping the skateboarders, scooterers and bikers out of the park (it was reserved for only rollerbladers) which made it a lot more fun for everyone who was there to rollerblade and watch rollerblading.

Chris Haffey

As you know Remz had a little tour they put together for the release of Chris Haffey’s newest skate. Here is a post dedicated to that tour stop at aMALL. It was a great time. He chilled at the shop, hung with the locals and then we went to Lake Cunningham where we disappointed Chris & Kato by taking them to a park that regulates hard on pads. Well I think we made the best out it and Chris did this wall ride/soul that no one has ever done. I mean I think they built this ledge deal for giants because it’s nearly impossible to get onto. I say nearly because Chris was able to handle it no problem. After the park staff chumped everyone hard we took off for some hot wings and beer, followed by more beer and some hangovers.

A 2.5 minute edit filmed and edited by Ivan Narez. Thanks Ivan for hooking us down dog.

Lake Cunningham night session 8/5 (today)

IF ONLY WE HAD COOL LIGHTS ON OUR SKATES.

Still you have no excuse for not showing… 7-9:30(when they close).  It’s $5 to skate, but free to park.  You will probably need something to cover your elbows (a l/s shirt, pads, socks, shoes etc.) and most definitely a helmet. See you there or else you will have to endure eternal ridicule.
