thats so true, im glad someone took the effort to make a well-written article about what we all are thinking. the worst example i can think of is the deshi carbons. pictures were released ages ago as if they were almost ready, everyone was hyped, and now months later they are going back for testing after breaking the release date. ive lost interest in those skates and especially with christmas over, there is no way im spending so much money if deshi cant get their act together. i feel bad for the people that preordered them... its hard to support an industry that isnt professional.

Pictures being released is one thing. That is ok builds hype, but listing them on order forms and what not and giving a price and ALLOWING shops to pre-order is another.

Thanks Nick D'Amico for the well written article, you make a lot of very good points that hopefully some folks will learn from.

I say DEATH to the pre-order! Ive seen too many kids sit disappointed for months on end for releases that sometimes never materialize.

Want your rolling company to truly take advantage of Christmas sales?:

Plan to have your new product releases out and at the shops by the middle to end of November before Thanksgiving! This way you will hit the rush that starts after Thanksgiving AND if there are slight last minute delays at least you will have a 1-2 week cushion so that you won't completely miss Christmas.

Too many rolling companies are missing out on the increased Christmas sales potential because they just don't get their new products out and to the shops in time or in some cases not at all.

Stuff I picked up this December because it was out and available:

Hat: Valo Brand
Shades: AM cool guy sun glasses
Tee: AM soda
Sweatshirt: AM Dedicated hoody
Belt: AM staple buckle
Pants: Vibralux Farmer Stretch Jeans

Skates: Blue Valo Broskows
Frames: GC Formula Ones
Wheels: 4x4 Shima ed. 6
Bearings: Craps
Antis: GC 42mm nylons

Magazine: Be-Mag #31
DVDs: We Are Valo 3, Vibralux On Top

this is a prime example of what I have come to know and love...and with out its existence rollerblading to me would just not be the same...I am talking of course about the phenomenon called "ROLLERBLADING TIME" where everything in life is behind planning time.

examples: times to meet for session...usually 2-4 hours later than planned the previous day...skate trips usually 1-5 weeks behind original planned time...and of course product launch 2-5 months behind schedule...I have grown to love this phenomenon and acknowledge this is part of the life that we call rollerblading

hahahahaha, this article when you think about it is written entirley for The Conference. All thier companies make false promises to both customers and team riders a like...

Delaying the new shadow mold for months when they bought them
USDs delays on the kelso's and the billy's
Then the shwag "rerelease" of the billy's with fake "mind game" wheels and a cheaply made grey cuff
The USD line after that was completley scrapped ( sorry hooi)
Never having soul plates available
UC wheels that chunked in 2 park sessions
Deshi carbons of course
And worst of all sifika making worlds worst liners which ALL FIT A HALF SIZE SMALL i hope your reading this oli bennet and co. do you guys not have a shoe measure in europe?

Razor- good about release dates ( kinda pushed back Aragon 2's)
valo -great
remz- great
nihm- great
Rollerblade- not even a real company anymore in my opinion

depsite all this ill still ride my thrones and kizer frames

Eric,I couldn't dirgsaee with you more.. The only bad publicity this is going to give our sport is people like you knocking hard working legends like Jon Julio. What have you done for our sport lately? Extremely disappointed to read your comment.. Do us all a favor and keep your negativity to yourself. If you want to help expose our community in a better way have at it.. ps. Jon Julio is the man, and continues to help support and grow our community. Keep it up Prez!
