Dear Bladers -

A lot of you have been wondering what I’ve been doing lately, and I apologize for being incommunicado. As most of you know, we decided to close down Trendkiller at the beginning of the year. It was a mutual decision, but as with any break-up, things haven’t been easy. In recent months, I’ve been busy moving from place to place and looking for a new way to pay for my life. Needless to say, it’s been a tad hectic.

Even though Mindgame and Trendkiller will cease to exist, I am still functioning as the creative director for Xsjado. So contrary to popular belief, I haven’t left rollerblading. In fact, I am really excited about the opportunity to concentrate on Xsjado, as I feel the product can contribute greatly to the industry’s growth. You may have heard that we added Damien Wilson to the pro team recently — an addition we are really excited about. We are also working on a new line, featuring a new Basic Complete and Chris Farmer Boot. The new products should be in stores some time in August.

My new full-time gig is as marketing director for WebRidesTV http://www.webridestv.com/ . WebRides is an auto-enthusiast site that features original video pieces — from profiles to car shows to shop tours. My big project has been to build and promote our new web community: “The Garages”. It is sort of a Myspace meets CarDomain meets PhotoBucket: http://webridestv.com/thegarage.aspx

Since my priority here is to generate traffic for the site and increase our userbase, I would appreciate it if all of my car enthusiast friends went on and built a Garage (check out the videos while you are there too). If you’re not an enthusiast, maybe you could pass the link on to someone who you think would enjoy the site. I’d really REALLY appreciate it.

Besides that, hit me up with anything…except skates. You have to talk to Mark at Integrated about that (sorry, Mark). My new email address is shane@webridestv.com . The “unlearning” address will be shut off in the next month or so.

I hope you’re all well. Take care.

AM get up spotted on MTV’s Scarred.

Friday, June 8th, 2007

If you live in the U.S.A. you have probably seen the stomach turning show by MTV called Scarred where they feature people getting completley broke off in the worst ways possible. I can’t hardly believe a show like this gets ratings (especially on MTV) as it makes some of the crashes hard to watch, let alone over and over again with slo-motion shots and added in bone shattering sound effects not to mention plenty of overly gory stock footage of non-related injuries… Also The host seems to be quite an odd character for such a show. I think he’d be better of suited in a Hollywood hair saloon fixin’ up alike dudes hair and nails, or better yet he could be testing a waterproof eye liner for all the crying he probably does in his off time. I’m sorry, Let me get back on track here. In Scarred episode 7, Kyle from Lancaster, Ohio can be spotted sporting our infamous full-zip hoodie and pin stripe fitted hat (soon the be released) during his head cracking Scarred profile. We here at AMALL just wanted to say thanks first off for buying the gear and second for actually wearing it. Kyle if you somehow read this or some one out there knows Kyle, tell him to give us a ring-a-ling because I got a $100 AMALL gift card here waiting for him. If you want to check out the episode featuring Kyle and many more Scarred episodes click here.
